Ben turns into a parking lot, parks and gets out. He walks around the building and sees a man standing near the corner of the building.

Man: Hey, it's pretty cold out isn't it?

Ben: Yeah...wish it'd warm it already.

Man: You heard the shelter for the homeless is only letting in so many at a time?

Ben: No. I hadn't.

Man: Well hey man, if you could spare any money...at least a couple dollars that would help me out.

Ben: Well...i don't carry any cash. I only have a card on me.

Man: That's ok man. There's an ATM right over there.

The man gestures across the street to an ATM.

Ben: Aww i can't right now. Let me go in this bar and get change or something.

Man: Ok i'll follow you in. I'm good people.

Ben sighs and starts walking. He was hoping to ditch the guy inside knowing the guy was a broke drunk who was lying to get extra booze money. He walks inside pays the cover charge and gives the guy a couple dollars so he would go away since he was so aggressive.

Music Video

I thought it was hard to choose a music video because there's so many i know of so i decided on this one. I'm not a big fan of the music but i like the video. The first shot begins on a stadium light and tilts down to an extreme long shot of a curtain being opened and a man walking through. From there the singing begins and it goes to many cut aways as the camera arcs and tilts. The singer is framed in many medium to close up shots. The guy with goatee often looks off screen creating an eye line towards the next visual. The cheerleaders are shown in various long to medium long to medium panning shots. The costumes feature warm colors and most of the shots are pretty tight framed. The end pans up to an extreme long shot of fireworks.

Emotion~~~Excitement/Thrill/Contentment

I produced ten photos that i felt represented excitement, thrill and contentment which are all within the same category. I used various filters and editing on most of them.  Four of the photos were at the bar and at a show with comedian Eric Andre.

The above photo is an original collage i felt expressed these emotions.

The above photo is an action shot i took of a girl using a glowing hula hoop.

Brainstorm

Music Video:
In this music video,  the audio will be industrial electronic. I would call it,"Shock to the System." It will mainly be a visual montage of quick flashing images and filtered movements and shapes. Some of the images would be various old industrial machinery, electronic parts and computer simulations of signals.
industrial machinery

The Documentary:
For the documentary i thought about gathering images of various graffiti on trains and buildings. I will call it, "The Protaganist." I will show different styles of graffiti such as stencil and wheatpastings. It will be an expose on the art form and what it means to some people. I may interview people to see how they feel about it but i'm not sure now if i'd actually show an actual graffiti artist in action. I always thought it was an interesting subject and there are many reasons behind its execution.

"Graffiti is a Beautiful Crime."

The Narrative:
This would be a thriller entitled, "Immortal Me."  The film will begin with a man fatally wounded putting a package in a mailbox on the street. He will subsequently fall over and die. The story will then begin on the main character going about his life and one day receiving this package. He knows not what it is and the rest of the story revolves around him piecing together the mystery while henchmen try to take it away from him. He discovers in the end what was in the package. It was a pulsing ball of energy but he knew not where it came from and what it was capable of. In the end, he learns of it's powers of immortality and super powers in general to those who behold it. It destroys him in the end.
"Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely."

Jim Grose Bio

My name is Jim Grose. I'm a Senior majoring in Integrated New Media Studies with a concentration in motion media and a film studies minor.  The picture i chose shows my passion for film and you can sort of see a painting i did of the stripe mogwai in Gremlins 2 in the background. I like making media because i've always been creative enough to do it. I would preferably like to work in movies as opposed to television because you're allowed to be a bit more creative in movies most of the time. When i graduate i'm planning on moving out of state and getting a job doing video editing and doing freelance work on the side. I've learned a lot of different medias so finding side projects will be exciting.
